INFORMATION

Laura Jou began her career as a professional actress in the late 1980s. After graduating from the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona, she worked in important theater companies such as those led by Julieta Serrano and Héctor Alterio, going on long tours throughout Spain. In 2001, she became interested in directing and actor psychology, and started working as a coach for child and adolescent actors. In this role, she became well-known throughout the country. Her work as a coach for children has contributed to wonderful performances, many of which have received awards. She has also become the acting coach for directors Alejandro Iñárritu, J.A. Bayona, and Agustín Villaronga, among others. Laura also runs her own acting studio where she trains new and professional actors in acting techniques. She is also one of the teachers at ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya).

 

The short film NO ME QUITES was Laura’s first production as a screenwriter and director. In 2019, she directed her first feature film, LA VIDA SENSE LA SARA AMAT, which received several awards and excellent reviews. In 2021, she directed a five-episode series called CUCUT for TV3, and shortly after, she worked on FÁ​​CIL alongside Anna R Costa for Movistar+.

This year he will release her film CAÍDA LIBRE and has just shot the TV series LA ACADEMIA for Amazon Prime.
