Director, screenwriter, and producer, award-winning with thirteen NY Emmy Awards® and a Student Academy Award®. In 2006, she became the first Spanish woman to receive a Student Academy Award for the short film 6 a.m. Her work focuses on crafting documentary narratives that address social, gender, and human rights issues, with special attention to marginalized and underrepresented communities.
Her recent projects include the documentaries Mujer, Papel y Tijera (2025), winner of a Silver Biznaga at the Málaga Film Festival (Affirming Women’s Rights section); Casa Diversa (2024), about a shelter for trans people in Paraguay; and Exilios (2020), about descendants of Spanish Civil War exiles in Mexico. In the field of fiction, her work as screenwriter and director on the thriller series Matices, produced by SkyShowtime, Secuoya Studios, and Stellar Media (2025), also stands out.
With nearly two decades of experience in New York and shoots across Latin America and Africa, her work is characterized by collaboration with international teams. Her expertise spans from script development to executive production, with projects screened at international festivals as well as at MoMA, PBS, the United Nations, and ARTE. Recently based in Spain, she combines her work as a screenwriter and director with university teaching in non-fiction formats.
She holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and has received film training in New York (CCNY), Prague (FAMU), and Cuba (EICTV). She has participated in international labs such as Berlinale Talent Campus, Cine Qua Non Lab, IsLAB, and DocuLab.
