INFORMATION

Marta Suarez graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in the United States with a Theatre degree, specializing in writing and directing. 

She began her career as a theatre director in London, where she directed several plays for various companies. Eventually, she moved back to the United States in Chicago, where she founded her own theatre company. A few years later she moved to Los Angeles, where she began to study film and TV writing at the UCLA Film & Television Institute. Since then, Marta has written and developed several feature film and TV series both in Spanish and English for production companies and platforms in the U.S., England, Spain, and Latin America, such as Fox TV Studios, MOD Producciones, Zinkia Entertainment, Plano a Plano, Fremantle Media España, Morena Films, Brightstar Film & TV, El Estudio and Disney +. 

Marta was a staff writer on the Spanish adaptation of Saturday Night Life, which aired on Cuatro TV channel; she was head-writer for the Spanish adaptation of Web Therapy, which aired on pay-TV channel #0 Movistar; and she co-wrote the feature family comedy El Mejor Verano de Mi Vida (Best Summer of My Life) directed by Dani de la Orden, which was the biggest Spanish box office hit on the summer of 2018, and which was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay by the Cinema Writers Circle Award . She has co-written the script for two videogames for Universal Studios. Also, Marta is co-head writer Original sitcom C.H.U.E.C.O. to Disney. Currently, she is development for several TV shows for Netflix and Sony.
