Lucía Jiménez

INFORMATION

Lucía Jiménez is a director, screenwriter and audiovisual creator. After almost three decades as an actress in film and television, she has embarked on a new professional chapter behind the camera, bringing to her projects the in-depth understanding of cinematic language she has acquired throughout her career. Her experience within the industry led her naturally towards writing and directing, driven by a desire to develop her own projects and tell stories from a personal perspective. To establish herself in this new phase of her career, she completed a Master’s Degree in Screenwriting at ECAM and a Master’s Degree in Screenwriting at The Core School, alongside specialised studies in film directing.

She made her debut as a director and screenwriter with the fiction short film El Trono (2023). The film received widespread national and international recognition, earning a nomination for Best Fiction Short Film at the Goya Awards and winning the Silver Biznaga at the Málaga Film Festival. It also enjoyed a successful festival run, receiving more than forty awards.

Her work is characterised by carefully crafted staging and a keen sensitivity when directing actors, as well as a particular interest in the technical aspects of filmmaking and visual language. She is firmly committed to telling stories that explore human and social conflicts from an intimate and emotional perspective.

Lucía Jiménez is currently developing several projects as a screenwriter and preparing her first feature film as both director and screenwriter. Her transition from acting to filmmaking has given her a distinctive creative voice, shaped by her experience as an actress and her profound understanding of working with performers.
