Lucía Jiménez

INFORMATION

Lucía Jiménez is a director, screenwriter and audiovisual creator from Segovia who has established a solid career behind the camera following almost three decades of experience as an actress and singer. Her in-depth understanding of the language of cinema, acquired throughout an extensive acting career in film, television and theatre, led her to take a natural step towards writing and directing, with the aim of developing her own projects and telling stories from a personal perspective. To support this new professional chapter, she completed a Master’s degree in Screenwriting and furthered her training with specialised studies in film directing.

Her debut as a director and screenwriter came with the fiction short film El trono (2023), a work she also co-produced and which garnered widespread national and international acclaim. The film was nominated for the Goya Award for Best Fiction Short Film and received the Silver Biznaga at the Málaga Film Festival, as well as embarking on a successful festival tour that confirmed the strength of her auteur vision. Her work stands out for its precise staging, a particular sensitivity in directing actors and a marked interest in addressing human and social conflicts from an intimate and emotional perspective.

Lucía Jiménez is currently developing new short film projects whilst preparing her first feature film as director and screenwriter, establishing herself as one of the most interesting emerging voices on the Spanish audiovisual scene. Her transition from acting to filmmaking gives her a unique perspective that combines artistic experience, narrative sensitivity and a deep understanding of working with actors.
