Laura García Alonso


Laura Garcia Alonso is a director, screenwriter, and film teacher. Trained at ESCAC, her final degree short film, Alex, premiered at the San Sebastian International Film Festival and was nominated for the Gaudi Awards.

Her second short film, Summer Storm, premiered at the Valladolid International Film Festival SEMINCI and was selected at the Malaga Film Festival, where its leading actor, Alex Monner, won the Silver Biznaga for best performance. The short film was also programmed in the renowned Versión Española – SGAE Iberoamerican Short Film Contest.

She currently combines her work as a teacher at ESCAC with the development of her first film as director, titled Runner. The project has been developed in the MFI Script 2 film Workshops and the SGAE Foundation’s Feature Film Script Lab.

She is also an advertising director. She has worked for clients such as Estrella Damm, Volkswagen, Vodafone, Cerveza Modelo, Seagram’s and Spain’s Ministry of Equality.
