He coursed audio-visual studies in Seville and debuted as a screenwriter with the thriller Adiós, directed by Paco Cabezas, which was a great success at the box office.
From 2018 to 2020, José was part of the writing of the two seasons of the international series Diablero, produced by Netflix and Morena Films.
In 2019, he took part in the second season of La Peste, created by Rafael Cobos and Alberto Rodríguez and produced by Movistar + and in 2022, he immersed himself in the world of literary adaptation, coordinating the script for the series adaptation of the bestseller La Novia Gitana, produced by Diagonal TV & VIACOM.
He has participated in several feature film projects, among which stands out his participation as original idea with Miguel Ángel Vivas for the thriller Asedio; co-writing with Miguel del Castillo (Techo y Comida) the adaptation of the novel La Maniobra de la Tortuga, de Áralan Films & A Contracorriente Films; or Calibre, the thriller inspired by real events, for the production company Morena Films. His latest series, La red púrpura (continuation of La novia gitana), premiered in San Sebastian, where he has worked as script coordinator.
