Iván Morales (born in 1979) is a multidisciplinary artist with a career spanning over three decades in theater, film, television, and animation. He began in the alternative scene during the late ’80s and early ’90s with fanzines, comics, and free radio. His professional acting career began on TV3 in 1997 and in theater in 1991 with Carícies by Sergi Belbel. He has worked with renowned directors such as Mario Gas and has appeared in productions on platforms like Netflix and Amazon.

As a screenwriter, he made his film debut with Mi Dulce (2000) and won three Goya Awards with El truco del manco. On television, he stood out as the creator of the animated series Heavies Tendres (2017). He has directed numerous award-winning short films, such as Sushi (2023), as well as music videos.

In theater, he has written and directed plays such as Sé de un lugar (awarded and performed for over seven years) and Esmorza amb mi. He has also directed works by authors such as Albee, McDonagh, and Christie. Its most recent success has been the stage adaptation of El día del Watusi at the Teatre Lliure (2023/24), which won several Butaca and Critics’ Awards and is nominated for four Max Awards, including Best Production and Best Direction.

He is currently presenting his feature film debut Esmorza amb mi, based on his own play, which received multiple awards at the Málaga Film Festival.
