INFORMATION

Clara Duarte (Seville, 1996) studied Hispanic Philology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, an activity that she combined with the beginnings of her career as a novelist and to which she would later add screenwriting.

She published her first book in 2019, Luna 174, with the publishing house La Galera, which was joined in 2020 Cada Seis Meses, her second work, which was also translated into French by Hachette Livre and won the Templis 2020 award for Best National Novel.聽

In 2021, the production company El Estudio Filmmakers optioned the rights to Cada Seis Meses and hired Clara to co-write the screenplay adaptation of it. This opened the door for her to participate in other audiovisual projects and she joined the screenwriting team of C.H.U.E.C.O., the first family sitcom for Disney + in Latin America, whose Season 1 premieres in 2023 and in which Clara has also turned her love for musical composition, writing two of the songs that will be part of its soundtrack. In 2022 she participated in the second season, which is currently in post-production.聽

Since then, Clara has developed several films for The Studio and Disney+. She is currently script coordinator on a miniseries for Disney+ and is writing her third novel, which will be published in early 2024.
