Carol Rodríguez Colás is a film and TV director born in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona). She majored in Media Communication at the Ramon Llull University.
In 2021, she released her first fictional feature film, “Chavalas”, which was granted economic support by the ICEC for its development and production (along with the participation of TVE and TVE), in the Official Section of the Malaga International Film Festival. The film, which stars Vicky Luengo and Carolina Yuste, was given the ‘Biznaga de Plata’ Audience’s Choice Award, the ASECAN Award for Best New Work and the Movistar+ Film Award. “Chavalas”, which is distributed by Filmax, will have its theatrical release in September 2021, with more than one hundred prints.
In 2020, she wrote and directed the fictional short film “La vella lluita”, produced by Mälmo Pictures and Alba Sotorra S.L., which was nominated for the 2021 Gaudí Award, Jury’s Honourable Mention at Femcine and the Audience’s Choice Award at the La Gran Pantalla Film Festival.
In 2019, she wrote and directed the TV Series “Bany Compartit”, a sitcom produced by RTVE. “A fresh and ingenious exercise (…) An apparently foamy work, but underneath that foam there is something else”, according to the television critic Ferran Monegal.
Throughout her career, she has also written and directed several documentaries such as “Raval, plan de huida” for TV3 and edited by Meritxell Colell (‘Con el Viento’), as well as tens of short films.
