Antonio Hens (Cordoba, 1969) is a film director and screenplay writer. He has directed “MI GRAN DESPEDIDA” (2020), written and directed “EN VIVO” (2020), “OH! MAMMY BLUE” (2018, Tesela de Oro for Best Film at the Alicante International Film Festival), “LA PARTIDA” (2014, 16 Roze Filmdagen for Best Film, Amsterdam), “CLANDESTINOS” (2008, Best Film at the BridgeFest, Sarajevo, 2009), as well as co-written “LOS NOVIOS BÚLGAROS” (Eloy de la Iglesia 2004) and scripted the short films “FIESTA” (2003), “MALAS COMPAÑÍAS” (2000), “ADIÓS EVA, TE QUIERO” (1999) and the documentary “14 AÑOS SIN PIEDAD” (1996). He combines his film work with other television projects, which include directing series such as “ENTREOLIVOS” T2 (2017-2018), “ARRAYÁN” (2008-2013), the TV movie “EL SECRETO DEL HÉROE” (2003) and the comedy “CASTILLOS EN EL AIRE” (2000). He has served as the audiovisual producer for “ARRAYÁN” (2001-2008), “ROCÍO CASI MADRE” (2007-2008), “LA DÁRSENA DE PONIENTE” (2006-2007), “CON DOS TACONES” (2006), “CÓR-TATE” (2005) and “PLAZA ALTA” (1998-2000). He majored in English Philology at the University of Granada and graduated as a specialized image and sound technician at Granada’s Hermenegildo Lanz Institute, as well as training in filmmaking at the ECAM, tutored by José Luis Cuerda and Jaime Chávarri.
Nominated for the Goya Awards on several occasions, awarded in 2014.
