Alberto Conejero L\u00f3pez (Vilches, Ja\u00e9n, 1978) is a playwright, stage director, and poet. He holds a degree in Stage Direction and Playwriting from the Royal School of Dramatic Art (RESAD) and a PhD from the Complutense University of Madrid.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among his most notable theatrical works are <\/span>Leonora<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>En mitad de tanto fuego<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>In the Midst of So Much Fire<\/span><\/i>), <\/span>El mar: visi\u00f3n de unos ni\u00f1os que no lo han visto nunca<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>The Sea: A Vision of Children Who Have Never Seen It<\/span><\/i>), <\/span>La geometr\u00eda del trigo<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>The Geometry of Wheat<\/span><\/i>), <\/span>Los d\u00edas de la nieve<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>The Days of Snow<\/span><\/i>), <\/span>Todas las noches de un d\u00eda<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>Every Night of One Day<\/span><\/i>), <\/span>La piedra oscura<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>The Dark Stone<\/span><\/i>), <\/span>Ushuaia<\/span><\/i>, and <\/span>\u00bfC\u00f3mo puedo no ser Montgomery Clift?<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>How Can I Not Be Montgomery Clift?<\/span><\/i>).<\/span><\/p>\n

He has been responsible for numerous dramaturgies and adaptations of classical works for companies and institutions such as the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet (<\/span>Pineda<\/span><\/i>), Teatre Lliure (<\/span>Medea<\/span><\/i>), the National Ballet of Spain and Teatro de la Zarzuela (<\/span>Electra<\/span><\/i>), the National Classical Theatre Company (<\/span>Fuenteovejuna<\/span><\/i>), and the M\u00e9rida International Classical Theatre Festival (<\/span>Troyanas<\/span><\/i>), among others.<\/span><\/p>\n

His work, which has premiered in more than twenty countries, has received numerous accolades, including the National Prize for Dramatic Literature, the Max Award, the Ricardo L\u00f3pez de Aranda Prize, the Theatre Authors\u2019 Association Award, and the Godot Award for Best Playwright, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a poet, he has published <\/span>Si descubres un incendio<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>If You Discover a Fire<\/span><\/i>, 2017) and <\/span>En esta casa<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>In This House<\/span><\/i>, 2020).<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2025, he participated as co-screenwriter on <\/span>La bola negra<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>The Black Ball<\/span><\/i>), directed by Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, a film adaptation of his play <\/span>La piedra oscura<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n
