David B. Gil<\/b>\u00a0(C\u00e1diz, 1979) has a degree in Journalism, a postgraduate degree in Multimedia Design and a master’s degree in Social Media Management. He has worked as an editorial writer and has published articles for DC Comics in Spain and Latin America. He has also been responsible for communication and social networks in different political organizations, as well as editor in several media.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Guerrero a la sombra del cerezo<\/span><\/i>\u00a0was a\u00a0<\/span>finalist for Grupo Planeta’s Fernando Lara Prize<\/b>\u00a0and has been the only self-published work to win a\u00a0<\/span>Hislibris Historical Novel Prize<\/b>. Currently published by Suma de Letras (2017), it has 21 print editions and remains the highest-rated historical fiction among Amazon Spain readers. In 2023, it became the highest-rated Spanish novel on Goodreads.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hijos del dios binario<\/span><\/i>\u00a0(PRH\/ Suma, 2016), his second novel, was a\u00a0<\/span>finalist for the Ignotus Award<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>chosen as the best science fiction work in Spanish in 2016<\/b>\u00a0by publications such as\u00a0<\/span>Xataka, Hobby Consolas<\/span><\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>La Casa de El.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

In 2019 he published the historical thriller\u00a0<\/span>Ocho millones de dioses<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span>(PRH \/ Suma, 2019), which climbed to the\u00a0<\/span>top of the Amazon bestseller<\/b>\u00a0lists weeks before publication and won a <\/span>Hislibris Historical Novel Prize<\/b> for Best Novel in Spanish. This work has been translated into five languages and has been optioned by Mediapro for its adaptation into a TV series.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2022 he returned to the Japanese scene with\u00a0<\/span>Forjada en la tormenta<\/span><\/i>\u00a0(PRH \/ Suma, 2022), winner of the Hislibris Award and the International Historical Novel Contest of \u00dabeda<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a screenwriter, David has written the pilot for the TV adaptation of his bestseller <\/span>Eight Million Gods<\/i><\/b> (produced by Mediapro, Sr y Sra and Irusoin), and is a co-writer of the feature film <\/span>Karateka<\/i><\/b> (Atresmedia, Sr y Sra), a biopic about the Olympic medalist and considered the best karateka in history, Sandra S\u00e1nchez.
