Mar\u00eda Ripoll is the highest-grossing director of Spanish cinema, with an international career and 12 feature films to her credit. She studied at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. She directed <\/span>TWICE UPON A YESTERDAY<\/i><\/b> in London and won Best Screenplay at the Montreal International Film Festival, the Audience Award at Sitges International Film Festival and Seattle Film Festival. In addition, she was nominated for Best New Director at Goya Awards. With <\/span>TORTILLA SOUP<\/i><\/b>,<\/b> filmed in LA, she achieved box office success in the USA and earned 9 nominations for the ALMA Awards. She returned to Spain to direct <\/span>UTOPIA<\/i><\/b> and <\/span>YOUR LIFE IN 65 MINUTES<\/i><\/b> (LA Film Festival, Stockholm Film Festival). In 2021, she produced and directed <\/span>CROMOSOMA CINCO<\/i><\/b> for TVE. Between Bombay and Barcelona, she directed <\/span>TRACES OF SANDALWOOD<\/i><\/b>, which won Best Film at the Gaud\u00ed Awards and the Audience Award in Montreal. In 2015 and 2016, she released <\/span>IT\u2019S NOW OR NEVER<\/i><\/b> and <\/span>DON\u2019T BLAME IT ON YOUR KARMA!<\/i><\/b>,<\/span><\/i> both great box office hits and screened at the Miami International Film Festival. In 2019, she directed <\/span>LIVE TWICE, LOVE ONCE<\/i><\/b> with great success on Netflix. She <\/span>directed <\/span><\/i>WAR OF LIKES<\/i><\/b> in Mexico for Sony Pictures and Amazon Prime. She directed the tv series <\/span>A PRIVATE AFFAIR<\/i><\/b> with Jean Reno and Aura Garrido, released in 2022. In that same year, <\/span>WE WON\u2019T KILL EACH OTHER WITH GUNS<\/i><\/b> premieres at the M\u00e1laga Film Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2023, Ripoll presents <\/span>YO NO SOY ESA<\/i><\/b>, starring Ver\u00f3nica Echegui.
