Violeta Salama, a graduate in Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with a Master’s degree in Creative Documentary from the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Barcelona, moved to Vancouver in 2007 to pursue a postgraduate degree in film production at the Vancouver Film School. In Vancouver, she started working in second units for productions such as <\/span>The L Word <\/i><\/b>and <\/span>Smallville<\/i><\/b>. In 2009, she returned to Madrid to work in the directing team of television series such as <\/span>Crematorio<\/i><\/b> and <\/span>Amar en Tiempos Revueltos.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

She made her transition to cinema working as an assistant director in films like <\/span>Dictado<\/i><\/b> directed by Antonio Chavarr\u00edas, followed by <\/span>Blancanieves<\/i><\/b> by Pablo Berger and<\/span> El Sexo de los \u00c1ngeles<\/i><\/b> by Xabier Villaverde. In 2013, Jaime Rosales included pieces directed by her in his film <\/span>Hermosa Juventud<\/i><\/b>. As a script supervisor, she has collaborated with directors such as Manolo Mart\u00edn Cuenca, Mateo Gil, Paco Le\u00f3n, and Paco Cabezas.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2021, she premiered <\/span>Alegr\u00eda<\/i><\/b>, her debut feature film. The movie had its world premiere at the Guadalajara Film Festival and its Spanish premiere at the Seville Film Festival. The film received nominations at the ASECAN Awards and the Carmen Awards. Notably, it won the Pomegranate Award for Rising Star at the 2022 Sephardi Jewish Film Festival and the Best Director award at FICAL (Festival Internacional de Cine de Almer\u00eda).<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2023, she directed the second season of the series <\/span>D\u00edas Mejores<\/i><\/b> for Prime Video and also directed the series <\/span>Detective Tour\u00e9 <\/i><\/b>for Tornasol and Deaplaneta.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
