Claudia Pinto is a filmmaker with a background in Communication Studies, holding a Master’s degree in Film Screenwriting, a Master’s degree in Television Screenwriting, and a Doctorate in Photography and New Audiovisual Media.<\/span><\/p>\n

With her debut feature film, <\/span>La distancia m\u00e1s larga<\/i><\/b> (Spain – Venezuela), she gained recognition from festivals, the film industry, and the audience. In 2015, she was nominated for a Goya Award for Best Ibero-American Film and won the Platino Award for Best Debut Fiction Film, among other 17 international awards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her second feature film, <\/span>Las consecuencias<\/i><\/b> (Spain-Netherlands-Belgium), participated in the San Sebasti\u00e1n Co-production Forum and won the Eurimages Award and the Cannes\/March\u00e9 du Film Award at Ventana Sur. Claudia produced the film under her own label, Sin Rodeos Films, in collaboration with Dutch producer Els Vandevorst (Nominated for an Oscar in 2021 for <\/span>Quo Vadis, Aida?<\/i><\/b> and winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes for <\/span>Dancer in the Dark<\/i><\/b>). <\/span>Las consecuencias<\/i><\/b> premiered in Spain at the Malaga Film Festival, where it received the Best Film award from the Critics’ Jury and the award for Best Debut Actress for Mar\u00eda Romanillos. Internationally, it premiered at the FICG Guadalajara Film Festival, where the young actress received another award.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2006, Claudia has balanced her filmmaking career with directing television series. Her latest series, <\/span>Beguinas<\/i><\/b>, is a prime-time production for Atresmedia and is currently in post-production.<\/span><\/p>\n

Claudia Pinto’s cinema is characterized by deeply meaningful stories and delicate direction of actors. She recently premiered her third feature film at the San Sebasti\u00e1n Film Festival, this time a non-fiction film titled <\/span>Mientras sea t\u00fa (As Long as It’s You)<\/i><\/b>, where she accompanies her friend and actress Carme Elias, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. For this work, Claudia received the Dunia Ayaso Award with a Special Jury Mention.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, Claudia is preparing a fiction film titled <\/span>Morir no siempre sale bien (Dying Doesn’t Always Go Well)<\/i><\/b>, a dark comedy with a touch of urban social satire.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
