Nacho \u00c1lvarez (1986) is a Uruguayan-born, Spanish-nationality film director who holds a degree in Social Communication from the Catholic University of Uruguay. He began his audiovisual career as a backstage advertising photographer, later establishing himself as a director of commercials and fashion films in Uruguay.<\/span><\/p>\n

After relocating to Madrid in 2017, he developed his debut feature film, <\/span>Explota Explota<\/i><\/b> (2020), a musical based on Raffaella Carr\u00e0\u2019s greatest hits, produced by Mariela Besuievsky (Tornasol Media). The film premiered at the San Sebasti\u00e1n International Film Festival, earning three Goya Award nominations and three Feroz Award nominations. Distributed by Universal Pictures and released in 330 cinemas, it became the third-largest Spanish theatrical release following the lockdown.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2024, he expanded the film\u2019s universe to musical theatre by contributing to the screenplay and serving as resident director of <\/span>Bailo Bailo<\/i><\/b>, an adaptation that premiered on Madrid\u2019s Gran V\u00eda under the direction of Italian producer Valeria Arzenton.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is currently developing new projects while awaiting the release of his second feature film, <\/span>Rojo Coraz\u00f3n<\/i><\/b>, an original Amazon Prime Video film produced by F\u00e1bula (Chile), scheduled for 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
